Keyword Elite attracted some pretty high profile attention recently. I was intrigued by the promotion surrounding this piece of software by one of the biggest names in Internet marketing, John Reese. I had seen it before, but due to other commitments didn’t have a chance to look more closely at it. I knew it must be good if someone with such a high profile was promoting it. But I kept thinking… Yeah but how good?

Here is what I found when I took at look at it.

My Experience

First thing I noticed about Keyword Elite was that it was a very nice interface. I don’t mind using software that is ugly, just so long as it works well and has good usability. It is always a bonus when the software looks good too.

Once I received my software I quickly set to work. Immediately after Keyword Elite requested my license verification it popped up a box to ask me how I wanted to set up my new project.

It gave me 5 options.

1. Analyze Pay Per Click Listings
2. Create a Keyword List
3. Select a Keyword List
4. Analyze Keyword Competition
5. Spy on AdWords Competition

The first project type available to me from Keyword Elite was the “Analyze Pay Per Click Listings” set-up. With this project type I could configure several different options before it swings into gear.

For example I could choose to mine data from either Google, Yahoo (formally Overture), Miva, and/or Enhance. I could then set the special criteria that could be researched and displayed under the reports tab. These special criteria included KEI, top bids, title results, Google broad match, Google phrase match, and Google exact match. I then set how many keywords I wanted the software to pull from Overture (from between 0 and 100).

Recently they added the ability to add data from Keyword Discovery or Wordtracker if you have a subscription with either of these tools. This is a must for any serious keyword researcher as the Overture data really just doesn’t cut it.

Once in action, there are two tabs available on the top window showing either the threads of data coming in live, or the end result of that data mining. The information given in this reports section is fantastic. It gives you:

• Results (competition).
• Search volume (from the Yahoo Keyword Suggestion Tool).
• R/S Ratio.
• KEI.
• AdWords CPC for broad, phrase, and exact matching (cost range for position 1 – 3).
• Number of AdWords Clicks for broad, phrase and exact matching.
• Number of AdWords campaigns.
• Number of Yahoo campaigns.
• Number of Miva campaigns.
• Number of Enhance campaigns
• Miva Top Bid
• Enhance Top Bid

Giving an honest keyword elite review is my best approach to show you if this product is worth your time and money.

Don’t fall for all the hype surrounding any product or program online, many marketers are only after a quick buck, promoting any and everything to their list.
Keyword elite has a nice look and feel, but I am after performance.

I got my copy of keyword elite and noticed that the program has 5 main options, and those option is what we will review in five simple steps:

Step 1: Analyze Pay Per Click Listing
I launched this feature and noticed that you can set many feature here as to where it would gather the keywords from.

The information retrieved is awesome, you can view the tops bids, know exactly how many competitor there are for Adwords, Overture, Ehance and Miva.

For Pay Per Click users, this is the type of information you want.

Step 2:Create A keyword List
Using keyword Elite you can build a big list of up to 10,000 in one session. But, that’s not all you can edit and append to the list of keyword found. The best part I like is, that it is happening on my desktop, and the keywords
retrieved are from the top search engines.

Step 3: Select A Keyword List
This option just baffles me, I have no clue why this was included. It is actually used for building a keyword list from a built in list of over 2 million keywords. I prefer to do my keyword research from live data retrieved from the search engines.

As it seems, the data retrieved had some nice little keywords included.

Step 4: Analyze Keyword Competition
Keyword Elite really does a great job here analyzing the competition. It retrieves the top keywords and the top websites for your researched keyword.

What I specifically liked is the SEO-Research provided showing you exactly how the top sites were ranking. It showed if the site included that keyword in h1 tags, in the title, bold tags and in the first 25 words.

This information alone can help you to make minor adjustments to your own site for better rankings.

Step 5:Spy On Adwords Competition
Now, this tool takes any top ranking site url that you insert and will keep track on a daily, weekly or monthly basis as to how the adds are performing in Google, I would recommend keyword elite to anyone that makes a living off of Pay Per Click.

The keyword research that keyword elite does is outstanding, it is one keyword tool that I will be using for years to come, what I like is that this tool is being upgraded based on what you suggest to Brad. In the beginning, the tool was a little buggy. But, I must admit, it is now becoming a tool to reckon with.
